Newcastle Foodbank

We provide emergency food and welfare support across the city for people in need.

Our Foodbank opened in March 2013 providing emergency food parcels to people in the West of Newcastle, since then demand for our services has grown and we now operate seven distribution hubs across the City region.

Since opening, we’ve seen a continued rise in demand for our services, and in 2023-2024 we issued over 25,500 food parcels to people in need across the City.

More than just a Foodbank…

In addition to providing nutritionally balanced food parcels, we aim to identify and address issues driving people into food poverty. In 2020, we set up our Welfare programme, Pathways Out of Hunger, which operates sessions throughout the City.

With a specialist team of welfare and benefits advisors, we aim to help people embark on positive change journeys out of poverty. A dedicated team of volunteers supports our Pathways project.
