Supporting Our Work

Volunteers are essential to our Charity’s ability to deliver its services, they support every aspect of our work.

Whether it’s distributing food parcels, assisting in our warehouse, helping at one of our Pantry sessions, or engaging in various other activities, our volunteers tell us how rewarding it is to help our Charity.

By volunteering with us, you’ll meet new friends, learn new skills, and help make a big difference to the lives of people in Newcastle who need our Charity’s support the most. Contact us to find out more.

We do accept any volunteers under the age of 18. We do not operate at weekends or in the evenings.

Corporate Volunteering

We work with organisations from across the business sector to support the vital work we do. Your team’s time and skills can make a real difference to the lives of people across our City. We host corporate volunteer teams every week at our Warehouse to help make food parcels that will be distributed to people in need throughout the City.

We run Corporate Volunteer days on Thursdays throughout the year, the minimum numbers of volunteers for Corporate Volunteer Days is 4, and the maximum number is 8. All volunteer days take place at our Warehouse in Dunston.

As a Charity, we seek to build lasting relationships with businesses and organisations, facilitating:

  • The delivery of corporate social responsibility objectives
  • Staff team building
  • Sharing perspectives on the causes and consequences of food poverty
  • Gaining support for our Charity’s mission, whether through giving volunteering days to the Foodbank, collecting food donations at work, and encouraging financial giving

Above all, we see these interactions as stimulating discussion and debate about practical solutions to the challenges ingrained poverty and inequality make both to individuals and to society.
